Medtu was founded by Aditya Malpani, an alumnus of IIT Madras, and Yaksha Chakrawarti, an alumnus of NIT Bhopal—both prestigious institutions with acceptance rates of less than 2%.
As individuals with friends spread across the globe, we became acutely aware of a significant issue: a glaring absence of affordable and accessible healthcare in numerous countries, even in developed ones like the US and UK.
Hearing firsthand accounts from our friends about 15-week waiting periods for surgeries or the staggering cost of $20,000 for childbirth, we were driven by the conviction that this lack of access could be remedied by connecting people with high quality affordable healthcare options in India.
